Spògan Dog Behaviour & Training

Spogan HQ · North Lochs, Isle of Lewis

VIP boarding, in a home that already understands dogs.

This isn't a kennel run. Your dog stays in our own detached croft house by the shore, cared for by a certified behaviour trainer who takes just one household's dogs at a time. It's more than boarding — it's a proper home away from home.

Location

Home, not a kennel block.

Guest dogs are boarded in our own detached croft house by the shore, in the North Lochs area of the Isle of Lewis — treated exactly as we'd treat our own.

Your dog's host

A certified trainer, not a kennel hand.

I'm a Victoria Stilwell Academy positive-trained, behaviour-focused dog trainer — so your dog is in genuinely knowledgeable hands. I actively observe and support their happiness throughout their stay, not just feed and let out.

Our focus

One household. Full attention.

We only ever board one household's dogs at a time, up to a maximum of two, so your dogs get the focus they deserve. Boarding guests never overlap with dogs here for training, either.

Comfort & safety

Settled, secure, and never overwhelmed.

Guest dogs are kept separate from our own three dogs by a baby gate, avoiding any friction over territory. We also share our home with a dog-loving cat, with horses nearby and sheep grazing in the surrounding fields.

Exercise & play

Exercise built around what your dog actually needs.

Lack of the right kind of stimulation is where a lot of behavioural problems start. As a behaviour-focused trainer, I make sure every guest gets outlets suited to their breed and personality — mental as well as physical.

VIP Boarding is a great fit if your dog:

  • Is comfortable being left alone for short periods (around 20 minutes)
  • Is settled and confident around unfamiliar people and routines
  • Is happy sleeping alone, away from other dogs
  • Is up to date on flea treatment, neutered, and fully vaccinated

This service isn't suitable if your dog has:

  • Anxiety, aggression, or reactivity towards people or other animals
  • A tendency to lunge, growl, or become destructive when unsettled
  • Difficulty being left alone for even short periods

If this sounds like your dog, our Private Intensive may be a better starting point — please get in touch to discuss.

Good to know

The practical details

What to bring

Please bring your dog's own bedding, for familiar smells of home, and their usual food, to avoid an upset tummy from a sudden change of diet.

Health requirements

Dogs must be flea-treated, neutered and fully vaccinated before their stay. Proof of vaccination is required.

Boarding only

This service is boarding only and doesn't include training. If that's what you need, take a look at our Private Intensive option instead.

Our tools policy

Spogan doesn't support the use of aversive tools. If you use them at home, VIP Boarding isn't the right fit — it's entirely possible to manage your dog without them, and we can show you how.
